Founded
2012

De NVWA ontstond op 1 januari 2012 door fusie van de Voedsel en Waren Autoriteit, de Algemene Inspectiedienst (AID) en de Plantenziektenkundige Dienst. Het agentschap van LVVN houdt toezicht op voedselveiligheid, diergezondheid, dierenwelzijn en plantgezondheid.

De Nederlandse Voedsel- en Warenautoriteit (NVWA) houdt toezicht op voedselveiligheid, dierenwelzijn, diergezondheid, plantgezondheid, tabak, consumentenproducten en natuur. De NVWA werkt voor de ministeries van LVVN en VWS en voert inspecties, keuringen en export-certificering uit bij bedrijven door heel Nederland. De organisatie levert daarmee een cruciale bijdrage aan de export en publieke gezondheid.
